Do Now: “But this too is true: stories can save us” (224). Discuss: How can stories save us? From what? What are all the different definitions and associations with the word “save”?

How does O’Brien’s narrative style express what he wants us to know about the truth? What does he want us to know about the truth?

-Synthesize and evaluate my thoughts about how O’Brien’s narrative style communicates thoughts about storytelling and truth
-Ask and explore questions that deepen my understanding about memory and storytelling.
-Contribute thoughtfully during the Socratic Seminar
